Safety and moderation

Araynge is a map of people who work on the road, and a board where they do business with each other. Both of those only work if a bad actor can be reported, avoided and removed. This page says exactly what happens when you report something, what we do about it, and what you can do if you think we got it wrong.

Reporting a post

Every post, load, truck listing, job, review and message carries a Report button. Pick a reason — scam or fraud, spam, harassment, off topic, wrong or outdated — and add a note if it helps.

The post is checked immediately against rate limits, duplicate text, link and phone rules, a banned-terms list and an automatic classifier. Depending on what that finds, the post is approved, held for a person to look at, or hidden straight away. Two different people reporting the same post holds it regardless of what the automatic check thought.

Anything held or hidden is invisible to everyone except its author until an admin decides. We would rather hide something briefly and be wrong about it than leave a scam up while we think.

Reporting a person

Some problems are not one post. A profile page has a Report button of its own, with reasons that fit a person: impersonation, claiming authority or insurance that is not theirs, fraud, harassment, bulk messaging.

Reporting a member does not hide them. It puts the account, with its recent posts, in front of an admin.

Blocking, and a do-not-work list

Blocking a person is immediate and does not wait for us. They disappear from your map, feed, search and directory; neither of you can message, follow or send requests to the other; existing follows and pending requests are cut. They are not told, and the block holds in the database, not only on your screen.

Do not work with them is a business list, not a safety one. Their loads and trucks still show, marked in red, and you are warned before you quote or request. It is private, and nothing about it reaches them.

You can also decide who may contact you at all — everyone, verified members, people you follow or crew with, your crews only, or nobody — and crews can be invite-only or approve each person who asks.

Location, and taking it back

Location is the one permission Araynge really needs, so it is the one we are strictest about. We store a rounded, approximate point — never your exact position, and never a trail of where you have been. Routing and the scale-ahead alert use a precise fix on your own device; that fix is never sent to us.

Two separate switches, and the Me tab shows both. Sharing is ours: one toggle turns your pin off everywhere, stops the background updates at once, and needs no permission change. The device permission is yours: we can ask for it and open the settings screen, and the same card tells you exactly where to switch it off on your phone or in your browser.

Background location runs only while you have chosen to be visible, and your phone shows its own indicator the whole time. Deleting your account removes every position we hold.

What we do about it

An admin reviews what is held or reported and can approve it, remove it, warn the account or suspend it. A removal, a warning or a suspension is a strike; three strikes pause posting for 30 days. Everything already posted, and the member's logbook, keep working.

Three different people reporting the same account within a day pause its posting for 24 hours while an admin looks, and an account carrying strikes has its new posts held for review before they appear.

We aim to look at anything held within one business day. Reports about immediate danger to a person go first. If someone is in danger right now, call 911 — we are not an emergency service and the map can be wrong or late.

If we get it wrong

Every decision can be appealed. On the Me tab, anything hidden or removed carries I think this was wrong, and a strike or a posting pause carries Appeal this. Say what we missed; an admin reads it and answers in the same place.

Filing an appeal does not change the decision by itself, and it never counts against you. One appeal per decision stays open at a time.

Disputing a record about your company

Inspections, crashes, operating authority, insurance filings, bonds, safety ratings and your company details are published by FMCSA. We show them; we do not write them, and we cannot change them. Neither can anyone else outside the agency: a DataQs challenge is what corrects the record at the source.

What we can do, and do: a carrier or broker who has claimed their profile can file a dispute from the Me tab. The record is then marked disputed by the carrier everywhere Araynge shows it, with your DataQs case number when you have one. Your note stays private to you and our admins; what others see is that you have disputed it.

Name-based matches are our own work, not the government's, and we say so where we make them. If we have matched the wrong company to a record, that is ours to fix — dispute it the same way and we will correct it.

Where to go

  • A problem with an account, a load or a record: the support page or robcarpenter@theteaintel.com.
  • Your own strikes, appeals and disputes: the Me tab inside the app.
  • What we collect and keep: the Privacy Policy. The rules everyone agrees to: the Terms of Service.
  • Danger to a person, a crash, a crime in progress: call 911. Cargo theft in progress is also a police matter first.
